Magicians
Graduated after a
Course of learning
Lasting 300 years;
And we have created an
Enchanted world;
We have sealed ourselves
With the Seal of Knowledge
And we have exorcised the
Alien Spirits and the
Nether Worlds of our
Ancestors' dreams.

We have become what
We have planned.
We have defined our
Own reality and have
Cursed the
Non-existant worlds
That lay outside the
Realms of the Reality
Of our Existence.

We have become the Bureaucrats
of Being:
Following the Plan
We have
Catalogued
Stacked
Pigeon-holed
Programmed
Humanity
Into a plastic
Paradigm of Life.

We have become
A Whole fragmented
Into bits and pieces
So that the
Person becomes
Targets for the Experts
Of our Reality.

We have become
Sterile Beings
Thinkless for Ourselves
While Professionals
Take apart ourselves
And put us back
To fit
Professionally defined Existence.

We have become a
Race which sighs
Subliminally
As the non-real
Spirits
Depart their fragmented
Homes.

We have become
Disparate atoms
Of Life
Bouncing off one another
As something knowingly
Non-existent
Laughs at our absurdity.

We have become
Seekers of the Truth
Provided that
Truth is Self-Defined.

We have become
Lost
In ways not defined
And those who seek
To find
Are martyred
On the Altars of
The World.

We have become
All that's gone before;
We have made the Plan, and
The Plan has hammered us into
A stark and plastic Universe
Which leaves few holes to escape.

The Iron Curtain of our Souls
Self-defined, self-created
Has become the borders
Of our World;
And the cost has been
The freedom of our
Self-defined and non-existent
Aforementioned souls.
